Another large telescope for the South African Astronomical Observatory (SAAO). An 1m F/8 Alt-Az mounted Ritchey Chrétien for robotic use. It has dual Nasmyth Foci. The main telescopes used for research are located at the SAAO observing station (32°22.795’S 20°48,657’E) near Sutherland in the Northern Cape, a 4-hour drive from Cape Town.

SBIG SF5-STX Filter Wheel

The SBIG FW5-STX is a 5-Position, 65mm square filter wheel for STX series cameras. 65mm square filters allow the use of the built-in guider (if equipped) while imaging through LRGB filters.

For 50mm square photometric and narrowband filters, and external guiding, use the SBIG FW7-STX Filterwheel and SBIG AO-X Adaptive Optics.
